We welcomed Jack, Emer, Elise, Gavin and Eoin, students from St. Flannan’s College, who visited our pupils to explain about their project, called Terra Star. With this project, they won third prize in the International NASA Ames space settlement design contest (most senior category). TerraStar features a plan to 3D print a settlement in-situ in space. It also includes an asteroid mining operation and a plan to initiate the terraforming of Mars.
After their presentation, they presented prizes to our pupils, who participated in their fund raising initiative.
Principal John Burns welcomed them, their teacher Mr. Conneely and parent Anna Pyne to Barefield N.S. He congratulated them on their major achievement and wished them every success in their travels and future careers. Well done to all involved.
