Téarma thar a bheith neamhghnách ba ea Téarma 2 agus tá Laethanta Saoire na Cásca buailte linn anois.
We returned to school after our Christmas Holidays full of enthusiasm for our teaching for 2020. It was so enjoyable to hear the excitement, the drama, the noise, the buzz as we prepared for our Spring Concert. We had started our Sacramental preparation. Sports, choir, bands, debating, art, STEM, Digital Learning, Book Fair and much more were all in full swing. Our Imagination Playground equipment had just arrived! Our application for sustained support for implementing the Primary Language Curriculum was successful with a Facilitator appointed. However, the new language we learned was totally different to our expectations. Two new words that have changed our school routines are the dreaded words of ‘Coronavirus’ and ‘COVID-19’. Language terms such as ‘social distancing’, ‘self isolating’, ‘underlying health conditions’, ‘2 km radius’ and ‘cocooning’ have now become very relevant words in our day to day lives.
As a school community, we are all here to support each other. Staff, parents and pupils are learning as we progress through these emergency times. Staff are making every effort to ensure continuity of learning for their pupils with parents being advised to select the amount of work that best suits their family situations. I want to compliment all our pupils for adapting to a different daily routine and for being so good for their mammies and daddies. To be honest I think we all have done a great job! Well done everyone! Comhghairdeas!
At this time, it is most important to acknowledge all the members of our families who work on the front line. Let us also spare a moment to think of those who are sick whilst we remember those families who are grieving.
During the Easter Holidays let there be no school work, just have plenty fun and games. Enjoy this precious time with your family. I hope it won’t be too long more before our school re-opens with a ‘céad mile fáilte’ awaiting everyone!
Enjoy the Easter Holidays.
Bíodh briseadh deas agaibh agus glac sos anois. Tabhair aire dá chéile agus Cáisc shona daoibh uilig!
John
