Junior Infants have been very busy. In English we have been working on our letters and sight words every day, along with learning lots of rhymes and songs and listening to stories.
In Maths we are working on numbers 1 to 5 and love to do maths outside some days. We often do a number hunt on the yard and practice writing our numbers with chalk. We also made sets of numbers using our maths toys.
In Science we learned about magnets and loved experimenting and testing things.
Our theme in Aistear is “The Farm” and we had lots of fun at the different stations. In the Home corner we set up a mart to buy and sell some animals and a market to buy and sell fruit and veg. In the Art station we made farm animals(a flock of sheep, drove of pigs, clutch of chickens etc). In the Construction group we built farms and used the polydrons to make a tractor. Small World played with a farm set and we also practised our cutting skills. We had lots of fun with our friends.
