In our school for the month of May, we always create a small altar in our foyer and classrooms dedicated to Mary, the mother of God.
Why not prepare a May altar in your home following the old tradition of honouring the Blessed Virgin in our homes during the month of May.
What do we need?
create a space – a small table, shelf area, bookcase
a cloth white or blue
a statue or image of the Blessed Virgin Mary
candle
flowers – look in the garden or near your home.
Then each day of May pause for a moment to pray alone or together as a family in front of the altar.
Let us honour Mary during the month of May. Let us thank her for all her blessings and we ask her to keep us safe during these challenging times.
