We travelled to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park on our school tour yesterday.
First we visited the castle. We then visited the old houses and learnt about Life in Ireland long ago. The children loved seeing the artefacts We met Dr Mary who gave us all a little bit of fennel to taste. We learnt that Fennel was often prescribed by the doctor for tummy aches.
We attended school. The children enjoyed sitting in the desks and imagined what it would be like to attend school long ago.
We visited the pet farm. We saw rabbits, lambs, calves and ponies. We had a picnic on the grounds of the “Big House” and rolled down the hills.
We visited the mill and at the end we were able to play in the playground.
We had a wonderful day. !!
