On Thursday 13th June, we had a very special visitor come to our school.  Barefield National School had the pleasure of welcoming Bishop Fintan Monahan.  Bishop Fintan spoke to the pupils about his vocation as a Bishop, his pastimes of running and cycling, he brought a Hurley, Clare Crusaders t shirt, a Galway and Clare jersey, a Shillelagh and his Bishop Staff.  The Bishop had question time with the pupils.  The school choir sang and Tigh na Coille céilí band played a few tunes.  The pupils of 6th class with their teacher created a memento for the Bishop to take away and this was presented by two pupils, Finn and Aaron.  A tremendous day was had by all and a day that will go down in the history books of Barefield National School.
