Our school Choir journeyed to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre to view the musical, The Sound of Music. This musical tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family while she decides whether or not to become a nun. She falls in love with the children and their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. He is ordered to accept a commission in the German navy, but he opposes the Nazis. The Musical ends with the von Trapp family walking through the Alps to the safety of Switzerland. It was a most enjoyable day. Well done to Ms. Corrigan and Claire Kelly for organising such a memorable outing and to all parents who acted as Supervisors.
