Friendship Week took place 28 January – 1 February 2019. This event was organised by the Student Council. All classes were involved in the creation of a beautiful display in the reception area of the school, entitled ‘Hanging with my Friends’.

The Student Council spoke to the school in assembly about the importance of friendship, how to make friends and how to be a friend. They reminded pupils about our Stay Safe rules and how Barefield N.S. is a bully free zone. The children chose a focus for the week which was to make sure everyone had someone to play with at lunch and that everyone was included in games.

Many activities took place during the week in the classrooms. The Student Council collected all the children’s ideas on what they would like to do during Friendship Week and this information was given to the teachers.

Different classes came together during the week to do a shared activity such as reading, art, computers. This was the highlight of the week for many children.

Well done to the Student Council for organising a most enjoyable week and creating a very friendly atmosphere in our school.
