Children from 5th class took part in Bizworld on Thursday and Friday. This is a programme aimed at promoting entrepreneurship skills in children. Aoife McDonagh from Bank of Ireland facilitated the workshops. The children came up with many creative business ideas. They discussed their ideas, applied for positions in their companies and marketed their businesses.

On Friday, they had to pitch their ideas to two ‘Dragons’ who quizzed them about their business ideas. The children had to negotiate with Marie and Margaret , the Dragons, before they agreeing to invest ‘Bizbucks’ in their business .

On Saturday, the children received medals from Daithi O’Shea at an event held in St. Flannan’s College. He quizzed the children about their business ideas and the roles they had within their companies. Lots of photos were taken with the Rose of Tralee presenter.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn many valuable skills for their futures as entrepreneurs!
