Visit of Marty Morrissey

RTE Legend and Presenter, Marty Morrissey, received a rapturous applause and huge cheer when he visited Barefield N.S. Choir Table Quiz 25-11-2019

Halloween Art

Just a few photographs to show the children busy with their spider webs in Visual Art before the Halloween. The children were set the task of ensuring no two web windows could be the same colour i.e. none of the 'web boxes' could match in colour to the one next to it.

Autumn Art

In autumn the children enjoyed engaging in Visual Arts.  Drawing trees, using the colours of brown, orange, yellow and green the children had to paint an autumn themed drawing.  Another challenging art lesson was the use of the interactive white board to display an animal or animals associated with autumn i.e. hedgehog & red squirrel. STEAM Projects Rang III-IV

Green Schools Committee 2019

Members of the Green Schools Committee met this week to start planning our work for the coming year. This year we will be applying for our eighth Green Flag- Global Citizenship: Marine Environment. The Committee will be speaking at the November Assembly and we are also organising a talk for the infant classes.

Concern Worldwide Debate

Barefield National School participated in the Concern Worldwide Debating competition last week. The pupils from Ms Clune's 5th class took on the pupils from Inch National School. National Science Week November 10th -17th

Currently, our pupils are mini-scientists. Einstein would be very proud of us! Experiments are underway in classrooms involving: Forces, Magnetism, Properties of Materials, Characteristics of Materials, and Electricity.
