Ms. Róisín Garvey visited the school recently to meet with our committee and complete an inspection on behalf of Green-Schools Ireland. Fifth Class pupils had a wonderful afternoon recently in our school garden! Mr. Murray bought mint, rosemary, rhubarb, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, and bedding plants for the pupils to plant. Our fantastic student teachers, Maria and Cian, gave great advice, guidance and support to the pupils and ensured that it was an informative and fun experience.
Our Rang V and Rang VI pupils are still buzzing with excitement from their memorable and educational tours to Zimmer Biomet in Shannon. The staff in Zimmer Biomet made us feel so welcome, provided our pupils with wonderful educational experiences in both Mathematics and Science, thus sowing the seeds for future Scientists, Engineers and Mathematicians! We began working with Lego today. We built models of a Science Rover and wrote code to get out models to move. We look forward to next week's challenge!
Fifth Class went to Dublin on an educational tour last Friday. We arrived at Kilmainham Gaol at 11am and were shown around by three very enthusiastic and interesting guides. We visited the cells of famous political prisoners involved in the 1916 Rising, the church where Joseph Mary Plunkett married Grace Gifford hours before his execution. [...]
