At Assembly today, the Frank Burns Memorial trophy was presented to Francis Meaney, Captain of the winning hurling team by Seán Burns. In glorious sunshine our pupils got a great surprise today when the ice cream van came to visit us. Each pupil got a huge 99. Some staff members were even seen enjoying the occasion. Many thanks to our hard working Parents' Association for organising this wonderful treat.
Active School Flag (ASF) is a Department of Education and Skills initiative supported by Healthy Ireland. In all, 128 very happy Barefield N.S. pupils from Rang IV to Rang VI inclusive participated in the National Cycle to School Day today as part of Bike Week in conjunction with An Taisce’s Green-Schools Travel Education Programme. Today we had our annual School Sports Day. It was great to see so many parents and grandparents in attendance. Our Playschool children launched our Sports Day with the Teddy Bear Run.
